About us

The Church of God, a Worldwide Association - South Africa is composed of congregations affiliated with the Church of God, a Worldwide Association in McKinney, Texas, USA.


The mission of the Church of God is drawn from Christ’s promise that His Church would preach a specific “gospel” (good news) message, continuing the theme of all inspired Scripture: “And this gospel of the kingdom will be preached in all the world as a witness to all the nations, and then the end will come” (Matthew 24:14).


Also included in our mission is Christ’s charge to the early Church leaders: “Go therefore and make disciples of all the nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things that I have commanded you” (Matthew 28:19-20). “Making disciples” involves educating, training and caring for believers.


Our values are developed from those of the New Testament Church. We teach the living Word of God from both the Old and New Testaments, which transforms peoples’ lives.


The Church of God, a Worldwide Association, teaches and practices the same way of life Jesus Christ and the first-century Church of God followed. We observe the seventh-day Sabbath and the annual Sabbaths or Holy Days, as did Jesus and the early Church.

Feast of Tabernacles

The Feast of Tabernacles for 2024 will be held at Gonubie (East London), a small coastal town on the south east coast of South Africa. Church services will be held at the Thistlewoods Wedding and Conference Centre in Gonubie. The local airport is approximately 26km from the venue and there are various car hire companies available at the airport. The East London area, including Gonubie, have beautiful, sandy beaches and the warm Indian Ocean for swimming. The subtropical climate ensures that temperatures throughout the year are mild to warm. There are various grocery stores, shopping centers and restaurants within a 15km radius.

ACCOMMODATION

There are various establishments available in the Gonubie area but accommodation can also be found in the following areas that are within 15km of the venue for services - Beacon Bay(East London), Stirling(East London), Nahoon(East London), Vincent(East London) and Vincent Heights(East London). Accommodation is also available further up the coast at various locations but the distance to the venue will need to be taken into account.
